Introduction
Thimi Deya Mu Baha(Thimi’s main Bahal) is Hiranyavarna Mahavihar. It is also known as the Than Chwapi Bajracharya’s Baha. This Baha is located in Maru Tole, Ward No. 4 of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality. It is commonly referred to as “Tabaha”. The deity Thanchwamha Lokeshwar is worshipped in this Mahavihar.
The local residents consider the deity as their kuladevata (family deity). This Baha is also known as “Hemavarna Mahavihar” and is sometimes referred to as “Hiranyavarna Mahavihar”. In its colloquial form, it is called “Hemavarna Mahavihar”.

The inscriptions and copper plates mention the name, features, and significance of the Baha. This Baha contains a chaitya with Panchawali (five elements) and other religious structures. An inscription refers to the site as the “Madhyapur Hiranyavarna Mahavihar of Nepal Mandala”.
This chaitya was established on Thursday, the second day of the waxing moon of Mangsir in Vikram Samvat 988 by Bajracharya Simanar Singh and a group of 15 members of his family.
Introduction to Lokeshwar
The principal deity of this Baha is Sri Lokeshwar. The fact that land was donated for Sri Lokeshwar is mentioned in palm-leaf manuscripts. During the reign of King Trailokya Malla in Nepal Samvat 685, Kudundal Singh Babu donated five ropanis of land for Loknath Karunamaya, as recorded in the palm-leaf manuscript.
Another palm-leaf record from Nepal Samvat 707 mentions that land in Kwathutor was donated for the deity Lokeshwar. This document also outlines the rituals of worship and land management for Lokeshwar.
