Biska Jatra is a vibrant festival celebrated with great enthusiasm in Madhyapur Thimi, Bhaktapur, marking the arrival of the Nepali New Year. On the day of Sindur Jatra, large processions of devotees carry chariots of various gods and goddesses, including Balkumari,Ganesh, Bhairab, and Siddhikali. Each chariot is carried through the narrow streets of Thimi, accompanied by traditional music, drumbeats, and chanting. People celebrate by throwing vibrant orange-red sindur (vermilion powder) into the air and smearing it on each other, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere where everyone is coated in red hues.
